It’s that time of year already!
When the mind starts racing, the heart beat increases, occasional
hot sweats and palpitations as I begin to prepare for the almighty creative coordinational
feat that is my FESTIVAL SEASON!!!!
This year promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
I am so excited I have worn out the soles of my shoes from jumping up and down. I
have actually taken up meditation by way of keeping myself grounded, focused
and a little bit more sane and calmer than usual.
It may only be April to you, but already I am on a countdown
for five festivals, two of which include copious amounts of creative work and all
of them involving the additional requirement of writing.
That’s right, you heard it here first (unless you heard it
already straight from the horses rather excited and deliriously happy mouth), this
year I will be working my way into a festival or two as ‘Press!’ My love of
writing has been discovered by others. And those others have given me wonderful
pieces of paper and said “Go! Be free in these festivals, come back when
travelled and wrote many stories about experiences!”
I mean really? Could I get any luckier? Are you actually asking me???
Yes, of course I would love to write about what I am doing.
Yes, of course I would love to write about where I am going.
Oh yes, go on then, I can interview a few bands for my
articles.
And yes, if I must, I can keep a log of all the amazing
things that happen.
It’s a hard life!
Not when you are having fun! I am in bliss. My element.
Living the dream...
So by June, I have to have prepared...
- All the Glastonbury creative efforts, theme this years is anything that grows – should be easy!
- A wedding booth for my immediate return from afore mentioned festival
- The Wickerman creative endeavours, (theme embargo at moment, but I do know it)
- My band interview research, questions and focus
As well as hold down the day job, keep building up my new
business, attend roller derby practice, get out more on my mountain bike, renovate
my kitchen, a few long weekends away with the nearest and dearest and sit the
feck down!
Needless to say, there are lists and clipboards everywhere.
Wouldn't have it any other way.
